How far to we have to travel from our resort to get to the boat?
The boat is right on the beach that you are staying at. It is approximately a 100m walk to the boat\
How long will we spend out on the water each day?
You will be on the water from 8.30am-3pm on your whale swimming days
Are we guaranteed to swim with the whales each time we go out on the boat?
As they are wild animals in their natural habitat it is impossible to guarantee that you will be able to swim every single time. But we can tell you that our success rate is very high and that we have amazing guides that will do their very best to get you in the water.
How many people are allowed in the water with the whales at a time?
We are allowed 4 guests plus a guide as stipulated by Responsible Whale Watching
Is it possible to stay longer after the tour?
Yes of course if you decide to you’d like to stay longer please let us know asap so we can arrange this for you
Will there be any other expenses that we will need to worry about once we’re on the island?
We suggest you bring enough money to cover your costs for any drinks and extra snacks you may purchase. If you spend any extra time before or after the tour you may also want to bring some extra cash with you to get around the island and for the local handicrafts etc.
There is also a local Tongan dancing night where you may donate some money (if you wish) to helping rebuild Ha’apai after cyclone Ian that hit in 2013
What should I bring on the boat?
Swimmers, sunscreen, something to protect you from the wind like a wetsuit or spray jacket, flippers, snorkels and of course a camera. (water and lunch will be provided)
If I don’t want to go out on the boat one of the days, do I have to?
No, you do not have to, it is entirely up to you. It is pretty unlikely that someone doesn’t want to go out on the boat, but if you are not feeling up to it there are plenty of activities that you can do on the island, or you can relax in your beach front fale
Do we stop for lunch on the boat
Your guide will take you to a nice spot, usually a beach where you can enjoy the pre-made lunches
How far is the resort from the airport?
It’s about a 20 minute drive from the airport to the resort
Are children allowed to come on tour?
Yes kids are very welcome on tour. Please contact us for details on which tour to take.
Are children allowed to Swim with Whales?
Yes children can also swim with the whales if they are confident in the water with snorkelling in deep water and with large animals!
What meals are included?
All main meals are included in the packaged price. You will only need to pay for extra snacks and drinks.
How are the Rooms configured?
Beds can either be configured in 2 King Singles or One King Sized Bed
I want to help out the people of Ha’apai after the cyclone, is there some way I can help?
Yes, absolutely. Children from the local schools will do a traditional show on one of the nights and all money donated will go towards helping to rebuild the schools etc.
