There is a maximum of 8 guest per tour and only 4 guests maximum for each chartered boat and we have chartered two boats for the whale swimming.

Your tour will be led by a Majestic Whale Encounters guide. They will be taking some photos during your tour, however they are not professional photographers as their job is to focus on our guests needs. Many of our guests find that the quality of Go Pro cameras are amazing especially for underwater video. They’re very small to travel with and user friendly. As with all our whale swimming tours, the whales are wild animals and we can never guarantee this 100%. As you can imagine, the encounters are always on the whales terms. We do everything within our power to maximise the chances of in water encounters to ensure the very best chances whilst remaining respectful of the whales.

During the dry season hundreds of elephants migrate to Minneriya National Park to what is called "the gathering " The best months to witness this is June, July, August which will unfortunately be outside of our tour dates and doesn't co-incide with the best time for Blue Whales. There is the possibility of seeing elephants in smaller numbers throughout the park during the time we will be there, however the parks can get very crowded and can take away from the experience.

There is internet at your accommodations, however it may not always work perfectly in each location and can be rather patchy and slow. We encourage our guests to try very hard to get on to holiday mode, relax, enjoy the experience and leave the electronic world behind for a while if you can. I know it’s a hard ask but it can be totally worth the effort.
