Depending on your arrival time, you’ll have the afternoon to settle in, enjoy a delicious lunch, and begin exploring the island and its surrounding reef. If you feel like cooling off, take a dip in one of the island’s “natural jacuzzis”—beautiful reef pools that format high tide right in front of the resort.

At 7:00 PM, we’ll gather for our first dinner together. Enjoy a relaxed buffet-style meal in the main restaurant while we go over the exciting adventures planned for the week ahead.

DAY 2 - Island exploration & first whale encounter

Your day begins at 7:00am with a fresh and flavourful buffet breakfast featuring local French-Rurutu cuisine and home grown coffee from the island’s own plantation. By 8:00am, we’ll head to the nearby dive base to gear up for our first whale encounter—an awe-inspiring 3–4 hours on the water, swimming along side the

majestic whales of Rurutu.

After returning to the lodge around midday, enjoy a relaxed lunch and take some time to unwind. In the afternoon, we’ll set off on a guided island tour. You’ll explore lush plantations where coffee, vanilla, and taro are grown, visit pristine beaches, walk through ancient limestone caves, and wander the local village—gaining a deeper connection to Rurutu’s rich culture and natural beauty.

DAY 3,4,6 & 7 - Whale Encounters & Island Explorations

ExplorationsYour mornings will be dedicated to whale encounters and afternoons free for relaxation or adventure:

7:00am: Start the day with a delicious buffet breakfast
8:00am: Depart for a breathtaking morning on the water—spending 3–4 magicalhours with the whales of Rurutu
12:00pm: Return to the lodge for a fresh, nourishing lunchAfternoon: Enjoy free time to relax or choose from a variety of activities—yourguide will let you know what’s on offer each day
7:00pm: Gather for a buffet-style dinner—on some evenings, you may be treatedto a vibrant cultural dance performanceThese days offer the perfect blend of early ocean adventures, cultural discovery, andpeaceful island living.

DAY 5 - Sunday Serenity

Sunday is a sacred day of rest in the Austral Islands. After a leisurely buffet breakfast, you’ll have the option to attend a local church service—a beautiful cultural experience filled with song and tradition.

The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace. You might like to explore one of the quiet nearby beaches or take a stroll into the village, where a peaceful cove awaits for a refreshing swim. You may also choose to immerse yourself in more ofRurutu’s unique culture and customs.

DAY 8 - Farewell Rurutu

All too soon, your final day in paradise has arrived. After a 7:00am breakfast, you’ll be warmly farewelled by your new friends and hosts before being transferred back to the airport. As you board your flight, we hope you’ll carry with you unforgettable memories, a sense of connection to this special island, and a new found appreciation for the majestic whales of Rurutu.
